Get to know me

V.P. Blackwood (pen name) – You can call me Lee.

I hold a B.A. in Business and have built my professional career in the IT industry, where structured thinking and problem-solving shape much of my approach to writing. In addition to my work in technology, I earned two teaching certificates from the State of Oklahoma, an experience that strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly and logically.

I usually write during the quiet hours between 8 and 10 p.m., when the world slows down and long-form thinking comes naturally. My work is strongly influenced by a deep interest in politics, social systems, and the long-term consequences of human decisions—especially when viewed through speculative or science-fiction lenses.

Writing allows me to merge analytical discipline with imagination, exploring how technology, power, and time intersect with human nature.

April 2026 Update

Hey everyone,

A quick life update—I've recently been laid off from my BDM role at my IT company. Right now I’m handling the paperwork side of things to make sure everything’s sorted properly, including severance.

It does mean the next book might take a little longer than planned. Not ideal, I know. But I’m still here, still writing, just navigating a bit of real-life turbulence at the moment.

Thanks for sticking with me—it really means more than you probably realize.

My mission

My mission is to explore how time, technology, and political power shape human destiny. Through speculative fiction, I examine the long-term consequences of decisions made by individuals and systems, especially those driven by fear, control, or ambition.

I write to challenge linear thinking, to question the idea of a single “correct” future, and to illuminate the fragile balance between progress and humanity. By blending scientific plausibility with emotional realism, I aim to tell stories that entertain while inviting readers to reflect on responsibility, memory, and the cost of survival across generations.
