Get to know me

V.P. Blackwood (pen name) – You can call me Lee.

I've been passionate about reading and writing since childhood, and my deep interest in politics often influences the themes in my sci-fi and fantasy stories. With a background in Business and a career as a business development manager for a European IT company, I bring strategic thinking and world-building depth to my writing. I hope my books captivate you as much as I enjoy creating them.

Because of my day job, I can’t share my 100% real picture here, but here’s a bit more about me: I'm in my 30s and studied at the University of Central Oklahoma, where I earned a bachelor's degree in Business. I also took a few master's courses, though I never finished the program.

I had a great childhood in the '90s and early 2000s — lots of fun with the boys back then. My own experiences often shape the way I write interactions between kids at school, friends hanging out, and even family dynamics. The love lives of my characters — their struggles, awkward moments, and occasional triumphs — are also drawn from my own experiences. Same goes for their jobs; I’ve had my fair share of challenges navigating the working world, and those moments find their way into my stories too.

I'm still a single guy — haven’t married yet — but I hope that changes someday soon. Until then, I’ll keep writing, dreaming, and sharing stories that I hope will resonate with readers like you.

My mission

My goal as a writer is to create stories that reflect the perspectives of men and boys. In today's world, the publishing industry often leans heavily toward female-driven narratives, and I wanted to bring something different to the table.

Originally, I set out to write a space opera — but after seeing so many of them on Amazon, I decided to take a different path. Instead of intense battles filled with laser guns and lightsabers, I chose to write something lighter — still unmistakably sci-fi, but with more humor, more heart, and some meaningful life lessons along the way.

I want my stories to be fun, engaging, and relatable — the kind of adventures that resonate with men and boys (female readers too) while still offering something thoughtful for anyone who enjoys a good story.
